Health and Appearance Marker Analysis

We analyze your DNA file for health and appearance markers

Consumer DNA tests like 23andme, Ancestry, MyHeritage, FTDNA, have a limited set of dna markers for this analysis but they do contain hundreds of thousands of health and appearance markers such as Sickle Cell, Skin color,  etc. Our report focuses on these and how it overlays to your family story

Adds another Dimension to your analysis

When combined with genealogy and relative analysis this service adds as third dimension where you can see things like “My blue eye marker was passed down from my 4th great-grandfather, and the ancestry is French” or “My Sickle cell marker comes from an area where I have Beninese admixture and via my 3rd great-grandfather who was born in the Dominican Republic.

Example of a marker analnysis for Maria

To the left we have the genome of Maria, she mentioned that her hair was always straighter in comparison to her siblings. Here we find she has a DNA marker called EDAR, which has multiple functionalities among which some of the effects are straighter, thicker hair and shovel shaped incisors. This gene is only present in Asians and Native Americans. In Chromsome 2, under the marker rs3827760 she has an A and G mutation the latter is what causes the effects mentioned previously.

However this is
NOT the only dna marker involved with hair texture and should not be taken as the only reason for her phenotypic trait. However as she meets dna relatives who share with her in this segment and with this mutation this may present itself in her relatives.
